• Morning: Memphis is a large port city, overlooking the Mississippi River at the southwestern tip of Tennessee. The city built its fortune on the trade of cotton and wood, which you can learn about in the Cotton Museum
• Afternoon: Visit The National Civil Rights Museum, constructed at the exact location where Martin Luther King Jr. was shot, affords the chance to learn about the historic movement that forever changed the way we view and treat each other. Explore the history of the Civil Rights Movement and its impact on our culture today.
• Evening: Overnight at the Peabody Hotel. |

• Morning: Today, a litany of restored historic sites, blending in with the new residential neighborhoods gives the city tons of character. But of course, Memphis is best known for its music and huge influence during the early days of blues and rock and roll.
• Afternoon: Visit the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum. The museum’s exhibition about the birth of rock and soul music, created by the Smithsonian Institution, tells the story of musical pioneers who, for the love of music, overcame racial and socio-economic barriers to create the music that shook the entire world.
• Evening: Overnight at the Peabody Hotel. |
